Growing Instructions
Start seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the average first frost date. Plant seeds 1/8 inch. Do not plant seeds deep because they need light to germinate. Use a heating mat to help increase germination. Keep the seeds moist, not wet. Wet soil will rot the seeds. Use a grow light to provide direct bright light for 16 hours per day. Inadequate light will result in leggy, weak seedlings. Thin seedlings to 1 to 2 inches apart when they are 3 to 4 inches tall. Harden off seedlings before transplanting. Plant in an area of the garden that receives at least 6 hours of full sunlight with well-drained, fertile soil.
