Growing Instructions

Broccoli is a cool-weather crop that grows best during the spring and fall seasons. Sow the seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the average last frost date. Keep the seeds moist, not wet. Transplant seedlings when they are 4-6 weeks old and have grown 4-5 true leaves. Harden off the seedlings before transplanting. Transplant outdoors, 12-18” apart in rows 36 inches apart.

Sow the seeds outdoors 2-3 weeks before your last frost date, or as soon as the soil can be worked. The seeds should be planted 1/4-1/2” deep and 3” apart. Plant in an area of the garden that receives at least 6 hours of full sunlight in fertile, well-drained soil with a pH of 6.0-6.5. Mulch plants to help suppress weeds, maintain moisture and keep the roots cool. Harvest while the buds are tightly closed.
